A Taste of Ketchikan
$138 per person
Join a local guide for a fully escorted epicurean adventure! You’ll enjoy a leisurely walk along the waterfront of this artists enclave, passing by sculptures and mosaics as you learn the history of this beautiful town. You’ll have opportunities to get photos along the way as you pass by the famous “Ketchikan” welcome arch as well as other significant monuments. Your final destination, nestled near a small boat harbor, is one of the town’s most famous eateries and you’ll be welcomed in like family as you are escorted to a private dining room complete with authentic Alaskan decor.
The diverse offerings will be a heavenly array of locally sourced ocean delights, procured by Alaskan fishermen. The menu will vary dependent upon the catch of the day and may include homemade chowders, smoked salmon cornbread, cod, halibut, salmon, blackened salmon tacos with homemade slaw, or Dungeness crab with hot melted butter. There will always be Alaskan beer pairings, followed by locally roasted coffee and a delectable homemade dessert. You’ll not only savor the food, you’ll savor the company as you get to know your fellow food travelers, your local guide and the talented chefs.
Upon completion of your experience, a map and shopping bag will be provided for foodies who wish to walk off their repast while enjoying other available samplings throughout town. Or, you can use our map to track down many Alaskan favorites such as smoked salmon, reindeer sausage, Alaskan wild berry products, kelp pickles & salsa, local teas, locally roasted coffees or confections. It will be a pure delight from beginning to end!
